I wish other areas of science also had something like SoME to create easily digestible content. Especially for practical information that can shape policies in contexts such as the energy transition. There are so many good sources out there (FT, The Economist, IEA, IPCC, yt channels...), but it requires an unreasonable amount of effort for an average person to form an informed opinion. I'm doing a minor at uni and I had to go through probably 50 papers and several videos and articles just to know the statistics behind the environmental footprint of a wind turbine.
Is there something like SoME out there for other fields?
I was so delighted to see the explanation of "How does a computer/calculator compute logarithms" !! I have been reading Eli Maor's "Story of e" and the explanations of how logs were developed, and the math reasoning seemed a bit bizarre. This article was a very clear, concise explanation!
